Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train on Long Island Railroad in Baldwin
Baldwin, New York (March 27, 2018) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train early Tuesday morning in Nassau County, according to a local news release.
The incident occurred on the Long Island Railroad’s Baldwin station at about 6:40 a.m.
It’s unclear what the pedestrian was doing on the tracks when they were hit by a westbound train traveling from Speonk.
The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
The crash caused a delay in the train services on the Babylon and Montauk branches.
The crash is under investigation.
