Man Dies in Florence Township Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 295
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Car on I-295 in Florence Township
Florence Township, New Jersey (March 29, 2018) – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle late Wednesday night in Florence Township, according to New Jersey State Police.
That accident happened at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, on Interstate 295 near Mile er 51.
Police said Rogelio Lawman, 49, of Pensacola, Florida, was in the center lane on I-295 Southbound when he was struck by a 2018 Jeep Cherokee.
It’s unclear what Lawman was doing in the roadway when he was hit.
Lawman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
New Jersey Police are investigating the incident.
