Man Killed, 1 Injured in Fort Lauderdale Crash on Interstate 95

Hollywood Man Killed, One Injured in 2-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (March 31, 2018) – A 24-year-old Hollywood man was killed in a wrong-way accident in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday morning
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 3:10 a.m. on Interstate 95.
Gerard Ellis was operating a 2006 Nissan Sentra northbound on southbound Interstate 95 when he crashed into a 2014 Audi, troopers said.
The impact sent the Nissan spinning across the highway and caught fire.
Ellis was declared deceased at the site of the crash.
The driver of the Audi, a person from Duluth, Georgia, was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with critical injuries.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
