Rapid City Man Struck, Killed by Car on Omaha Street near Founders Park

Rapid City, South Dakota (April 2, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Sunday night in Rapid City, according to authorities.

The collision occurred just before 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 1 in the 1400 block of Omaha Street near Founders Park.

A 38-year-old Rapid City man was crossing Omaha Street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound 2018 Subaru driven by a 65-year-old Rapid City woman.

The man was pronounced dead at the site of the incident. His name was not released until his family is notified.

The 65-year-old woman was not injured.

Police are conducting an investigation into the crash.
