Phoenix, Arizona (April 8, 2018) – A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday evening in Phoenix, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7 near 16th Street and Highland Avenue.

The Phoenix Police Department said Robert Melvin, 44, was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by an eastbound dark-colored Nissan.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene after the incident.

Melvin was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan was later located after being involved in another crash.

Police are conducting an investigation into the hit-and-run crash.
