One Person Killed in Private Plane Crash near Crozet in Albemarle County

Albemarle County, Virginia (April 16, 2018) – According to State Police, One person was killed after a private plane crash Sunday night in Albemarle County.

The crash took place at around 9 p.m. April 15, near Crozet, 12 miles west of Charlottesville.

As per the police, the aircraft was located in a field and the remains of the body were taken to the medical examiner’s office for autopsy and identification.

Multiple rescue crews from Charlottesville and Albemarle County responded to the crash. However, steep terrain and weather conditions complicate rescue efforts.

The crash remained under investigation.
