1 Killed, 1 Seriously Hurt in Car Crash with Tractor-Trailer on U.S. 76 in Marion County

Marion County, South Carolina (April 24, 2018) – One person was killed and another injured in a fatal two-vehicle accident on Monday evening in Marion County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened on U.S. 76 at around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 23.

The SCHP said a 2003 Hyundai was traveling westbound on U.S. 76 when it crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer for unknown reasons.

The driver of the Hyundai was killed in the crash. A passenger in the vehicle was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

The identities of the parties involved were not immediately released by the authorities.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the SCHP.
