Coker Man Killed in Boat Crash on Lake Tuscaloosa near Tierce Patton Bridge in Alabama

Tuscaloosa County, Alabama (March 27, 2018) – A Coker man was killed Saturday morning in a boating crash in Alabama, according to a Tuscaloosa Police Department report.

The fatal incident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24 on Lake Tuscaloosa near Tierce Patton Bridge.

According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department report, 63-year-old Danny Pate was heading southbound on Lake Tuscaloosa when his boat hit a rocky bank, became airborne and struck the underside of the  Tierce Patton Bridge.

Pate was pronounced dead at the site of the incident.

The bridge suffered some damage but remained open.

No further information regarding the crash is available at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
