Man, Woman Killed in Train Crash at U.S. Highway 72 and Moores Mill Road in Huntsville

Huntsville, Alabama (April 3, 2018) – A 34-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were killed Sunday morning in a train crash in Huntsville, according to authorities.

The fatal crash took place at about 6:00 a.m. Sunday, April 1 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 72 and Moores Mill Road.

Joshua Collier was driving his 2016 Chevrolet Camaro eastbound on U.S. Highway 72 at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at the intersection and turned northbound.

Collier did not slow down or attempt to stop and hit a train that was traveling westbound into Huntsville.

The car was sent off the road and caught fire.

Collier and his passenger, Sarah McCallum, 26, of Huntsville, were both pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

An investigation into the deadly crash is underway.
