Sonoma County, California (April 12, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday night truck accident that killed one person and left two other parties seriously injured in Sonoma County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident occurred at about 11:31 p.m. on Highway 1 at Valley Ford Road, west of Bloomfield.

The CHP said, two pickup trucks collided head-on on the highway in unclear circumstances.

One of the vehicles reportedly burst into flames due to the collision. One person was pinned inside the wreckage.

Sadly, one person sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

Two other parties were seriously injured and were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
