2 Killed, 2 Injured in 2-Vehicle Collision at El Norte Parkway and Ash Street in Escondido
Escondido, California (March 28, 2018) – Two people were killed and two others were injured Sunday night in a two-car crash in Escondido, according to an Escondido Police Department report.
The fatal incident took place at the intersection of El Norte Parkway and Ash Street, just east of Interstate 15 on Sunday, March 25.
According to the Escondido Police Department report, a Dodge Charger was heading northbound on Ash Street when it ran a red light and crashed into a Mustang that was traveling westbound on El Norte Parkway.
Brandon Contreras, 19, the Mustang’s driver and Ana Lira, 19, riding in his car were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Dodge’s driver and a second passenger in the Mustang were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
No further information regarding the crash is available at this time.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
