Six People Killed, Eight Others Injured in Windsor Hills Fiery Crash in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California (August 4, 2022) – Six people, including a pregnant woman and an infant, are dead following a fiery three-vehicle traffic collision at a busy intersection in Los Angeles, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened just before 2 p.m. Thursday at La Brea and Slauson avenues in the Windsor Hills neighborhood.

CHP officials say a black Mercedes-Benz car was speeding southbound on La Brea Avenue when it collided with one of the other cars. The crash caused at least two vehicles to catch fire. Responding officers located two of the badly-burned cars at a Shell gas station, while the third car appeared to have overturned onto its roof near the entrance of the gas station.

Authorities say the driver of the speeding Mercedes went failed to stop at a red light leading to the crash.

As per the CHP, a total of six people, including a pregnant woman and an infant, were killed in the deadly wreckage.

Eight other people, among them six teens, were, transported to Ronal Reagan UCLA Medical Center for treatment. One of the teenagers suffered major injuries in the crash.

No additional details regarding the crash were provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
