Motorcyclist killed after car accident

CHINO, Calif. — A 19-year old motorcyclist died at the hospital Wednesday after colliding with a Nissan Altima in Chino in the 5900 block of Riverside Drive.

A helicopter flew the motorcyclists, identified as Ryan Colwell of Ontario, to Loma Linda University Medical Center. According to Chino Police Department Colwell died during surgery at the hospital.

Someone call the Chino Police Department to the scene after the 3:43 p.m. crash in the 5900 block of Riverside Drive in front of the Martinique Apartment complex near the Chino Valle Fire Station 7.

The 2014 Chino High School graduate road a 1998 Yamaha motorcycle east on Riverside Drive when he collided with a Nissan Altima, stated Cpl. Scott Trosper.

Chino resident Veronica Jimenez, 42, made a left turn into the Martinique Apartment’s driveway from the westbound Riverside Drive when the accident occurred.

Cpl. Trosper stated, Colwell hit the Nissan Altima’s passenger side.

An ambulance drove the 19-year old motorcyclist to Prado Conservation Camp located at Eucalyptus and Central avenues. Then, a medical helicopter flew him to the hospital at Loma Linda University, said, Massiel Ladron De Guevara, a Chino Valley Fire Department spokesperson.

Paramedics of the Chino Valley Fire District treated Jimenez, the driver of the Nissan Altima, at the scene of the accident.

Chino Police Department blocked access to Riverside Drive approximately 5 hours from Magnolia Avenue eastward and Oaks Avenue westward.

Both vehicles received heavy damaged due to the crash
