It is unfortunate that traffic accidents happen but they are an everyday part of life. Here are some reports of traffic accidents that have occurred in in the Concord California Area since February of 2016.
On February first there were multiple vehicles involved in a car crash. The crash occurred on State Highway 4 in Concord California. Two young men were arrested. One was 21 years old and the other was 19. A gun was found in their vehicle. Apparently these two opened fire on another vehicle while going down the highway. This lead to multiple cars being damaged in the accident that followed. Seven people were injured according to the police. The shooting itself was witnessed by an off duty police officer.
The vehicle driven by the shooters then took the Port Chicago Highway Exit going over 65 miles per hour and collided with a Humvee vehicle and flipped the Humvee over. Three cars were then hit by the shooters vehicle while they were waiting at a traffic light. All seven people hurt in the crash were sent to the hospital. The vehicle being shot at was not involved in the crash.
Another multiple vehicle crash happened on the same highway near the same area on May 6 2016. On that day there was a six vehicle collision on State Highway 4 in Concord California. Ten people were injured with 5 being taken to the hospital at that time. The other five people who were not taken to the hospital were treated by paramedics at the scene and then released. This accident caused a major backup for a time on Highway 4 and some of the side roads near the highway. At least two lanes of the highway were temporarily blocked off. The crash occurred about 5:30 A.M.
