Frank Owens Fatal Plane Crash on McKinley Avenue in La Verne
La Verne, California (October 3, 2018) – The Pilot who was killed Sunday evening in a plane crash which also left a woman injured in La Verne has been identified as Frank E. Owens, 69, of Los Angeles, a local news source reported.
The crash happened at about 6:00 p.m. September 30, in the 1615 block of McKinley Avenue, near Brackett Field Airport.
According to the report, Owens was flying the 77RG Cessna fixed-wing, single-engine plane, practising approaches onto Brackett Field when the aircraft crashed into a nearby plant nursery.
Owens was killed in the crash while he female copilot sustained severe injuries.
The woman’s name was not immediately disclosed.
The plane was registered to Owens. He had reportedly radioed that the plane was experiencing some mechanical problems before the crash.
The La Verne police, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
