German Lopez Fatal Boating Accident on Echo Park Avenue in Echo Park Lake
Echo Park Lake, California (July 28, 2018) – The man who was killed in a boating accident early Thursday morning in Los Angeles has been identified as German Lopez, 23, a local news source reported.
The accident happened at about 3:45 a.m. July 26, in the 800 block of Echo Park Avenue.
Reportedly, Lopez fell from a pedal boat which capsized in Echo Park Lake, and he drowned.
According to the officials, two or three pedal boats were illegally boarded by several people who had been drinking overnight. One of them stood up causing the boat to capsize.
Boats and a helicopter helped in the rescue operation. Lopez’s body was recovered from the lake later on Thursday.
The crash remains under investigation.
