A recent illegal car race turned deadly in Los Angeles this weekend. Two drivers allegedly entered an illegal street race on a L.A. highway where one of the drivers apparently hit a UPS truck from the side. The collision caused the UPS truck to flip several times, landing in the opposite lane of traffic. The truck then caught fire and caused a multi car traffic collision which eventually killed the driver of the truck, and two passengers in one of the vehicles involved in the accident. The drivers who initially caused the accident by racing were unharmed in the fatal event.

The names of the victims were released shortly after the event. The driver of the UPS was identified as Scott Treadway, and was described by his co-workers as being a man with a happy life who will be greatly missed. The two victims who were killed in the other vehicle were identified as high school students Michelle Littlefield and Brian Lewandoski, who had both recently graduated. The two were on their way from a trip to disney land with two other friends who were not killed, but suffered great injuries from the fiery accident. The high school graduates were 19 and 18 years old respectively.

One arrest was made in fatal car accident case. The driver of one of the racing vehicles was arrested 2 days after the incident. The driver is currently in jail awaiting an arrangement. While no official charges have been made, the driver is facing potential vehicular manslaughter charges along with charges for leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving. The driver’s name has not been release, but authorities have released information linking him to two previous traffic infractions. The individual apparently has prior arrest warrants for reckless driving in other cities and states
