Elderly Man Using Walker Critically Injured in Downtown Los Angeles Pedestrian Crash
Los Angeles, CA: Taxi Driver Hits and Injures Elderly Man at 3RD Street and San Pedro
Los Angeles, California (October 12, 2016) – An elderly man using a walker was critically injured early Wednesday morning after he was struck by a green taxi cab in Los Angeles, according to a police report.
The accident took place at about 12:31 early this morning at the intersection of 3rd street and San Pedro in Downtown Los Angeles.
The elderly man was struck while crossing the street in a marked crosswalk and sustained critical injuries in the accident.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division together with paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene to attend to the injured man. The man was then rushed to a local hospital for treatment, the report said.
Further, the report said that the driver of the green taxi cab which struck the victim remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigating officers.
The crash is under investigation by the police to determine the cause and liability.
