Whittier 3-Car Crash Kills One and Injures Three on Colima Road, Driver Arrested, Jacob Zamora and Corey Kiefer Arrested
Whittier, CA: Woman Killed, 3 Injured, and Driver Arrested in Colima Road Three-Vehicle Collision, Jacob Zamora and Corey Kiefer Arrested
Whittier, California (December 17, 2016) –According to a police report, a 41-year-old woman was killed and three others injured Friday night in a deadly three-vehicle crash in Whittier.
The fatal accident occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the 7700 block of Colima Road near Mar Vista Street.
The vehicles involved in the crash were described as a white Hyundai, a black BMW, and a Honda Accord.
According to the report, the Hyundai and the BMW were heading northbound on Colima Road at high rates of speed when one of the BMW lost control of his vehicle and struck the Hyundai.
The impact of the accident sent the Hyundai into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with the Honda driven by the 41-year-old woman.
The woman was taken to a hospital where the she died of her injuries. Her 11-year-old son who was passenger in her vehicle was taken to UCI Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two passengers in the BMW were also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The BMW driver, identified as a 22-year-old Corey Kiefer of Whittier, was arrested by the police for gross vehicular manslaughter.
The driver of the Hyundai, 22-year-old Jacob Zamora from Anaheim was also arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter.
The cause of the three-car collision is under investigation by the police.
