Two teenagers lost in a Palmdale crash

Teenagers live life like it is going to last forever, but unfortunately, teen drivers get in trouble each year for holding this belief. Recently, two brothers in Palmdale learned that lesson the hard way.

Cruz Flores was a 19-year-old college student and he had an extremely bright future ahead of him. His brother, Jesus Flores was a high school student. In mid-February, they were in a collision. The two brothers were driving to Jesus’ swimming practice in Palmdale when they made a sudden U-Turn. The U-Turn took them into the path of an oncoming Buick, which hit them head on.

The two brothers were killed on impact and the driver of the Buick was admitted to the hospital with a broken leg. The Coroner’s office released their report on February 20th and the community has responded emotionally.

A vigil was held within a week of the class, and the community poured out with emotion. The family had already lost a cousin recently, and a local park filled with people that were upset. People left flowers everywhere and they left heart shaped candles throughout the park. A spokesperson for the family came out and stated that the family was in a deep state of mourning after suffering through this tragedy.

The two brothers were loved throughout the community. Both brothers were talented scientists and were both members of the swim team. They lived great lives and were always helpful to people they came into contact with. The family has set up a GoFundMe memorial to raise money to remember these two teenagers.

Life is short and this tragedy further proves how short life really can be. The Palmdale community was deeply impacted by this tragedy, as they always are when young people are lost. Teenagers must be safe at all times behind the wheel.
