The quaint corner of Villa Street and Lake Avenue was recently stricken by horror as the sound of metal clashing together emerged during the violent car accident on March 30th. This unfortunate collision left two people dead and three in critical condition. While many crashes take place at night after a party, this one occurred shortly after sunrise, at 7:30 in the morning.
The accident occurred when a Ford Mustang was traveling down Lake Avenue when an SUV made a quick left turn, catching the Mustang off guard. The momentum of the SUV sent the Mustang into a nearby pole. While one might be inclined to assign blame to one of the two drivers, it is apparent that both drivers had a green light, meaning that it is difficult to suggest that one was at fault.
Nonetheless, the driver of the Mustang died instantly, and his passengers were rushed the emergency room. The Mustang had two passengers in addition to the driver, all of whom were males in their early 20s. All three went to the hospital and were later stabilized. Only the driver succumbed to his injuries.
The female who was driving the SUV did not sustain any serious injuries.
As the investigation proceeded, police determined that one of the drivers was traveling faster than they should have, and this contributed to the collision. This incident has led the local police to advice their citizens that they need to pay attention to their speed. A vehicle is not a toy, and driving too fast is reckless behavior, as evidenced by this crash.
There were two people who had the unfortunate opportunity to witness the crash. They report that they could not have done anything to help aside from calling the phone. One witness also offered condolences for the families.
