Fatal Crash Forces Authorities in West Hollywood CA to Close Part of Sunset Boulevard

The driver of a Nissan Altima is killed when the car crashed in a utility pole on Western Hollywood. The crashed involved one vehicle where the driver was pronounced dead at the scene at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Larrabee Street.
According to the video footage obtained by authorities, the car had apparently lost control on the westbound side of Sunset Blvd where it hit a curb and plowed into a store that was under construction. The car overturned a parking meter and a tree before coming to a complete stop as it struck a utility pole head on.
The factors surrounding the car accident remain unclear. Investigators were summoned to the crash site in order to uncover the cause of the accident. Authorities suspect the crash may have been caused when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding or driving under the influence.
According to the California Highway Patrol, all lanes on eastbound and westbound sides between San Vicente Blvd and Horne Ave. on Sunset Blvd will be closed during the investigation. The investigation is expected to last until around 2p.m.
