A sports car fleeing a traffic stop caused a Hollywood crash that killed its driver and another man. The December 30, 2015, crash, took place at about 1:30 in the morning near Sunset Boulevard and Argyle Avenue.
According to reports, a silver Camaro was pulled over by police. The cops removed a female passenger for questioning and the driver sped off. After traveling approximately half a mile, the car plowed through the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Gower Street and struck a Metro van. The force of the collision pushed the van into a concrete wall before it burst into flames.
The driver of the Metro van was trapped in the flames and died at the scene. He was later identified as Willie Toy, 51. Toy, the father of eight, was a custodian for the Metro.
The driver of the Camaro was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead. He was eventually identified as Oscar Chavez, age 29.
