Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash

Police and EMS found themselves with their hands full last Tuesday night when a serious one vehicle car crash was reported to Oxnard emergency services. As yet, officials do not know the reason for the vehicle accident on Tuesday night, but as a consequence, a male driver was killed in the single vehicle crash.
Officials state that the incident was reported just after 10 PM on the same day. The accident occurred at the intersection of Saviers Road and Date Street. EMS personnel and police officers responded quickly to the emergency call.
The investigation indicates that a Nissan traveled south on Saviers Road. It approached the intersection of Date Street, and at some point during this time the driver lost control of the vehicle.
He proceeded to veer off the road and crashed into a large tree on the southwest corner of the intersection. Officials pronounced the driver dead upon arrival at the scene.
There was also a 20-year-old female passenger, a resident of Oxnard, who was injured in the accident. She was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where her injuries were treated.
At present, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol factored into the reason for the accident. Currently, the incident is still under investigation, and police are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
