Rider Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla
La Jolla, California (January 8, 2021) – A 19-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash on Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla on Thursday afternoon, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash happened at around 1:15 p.m. January 7, in the 3200 block of Torrey Pines Road near La Jolla Shores Beach.
The police said a 19-year-old man was riding his 2019 Honda sportbike northbound on Torrey Pines Road when, for some reason, he lost control and crashed into a center divider wall.
The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the other side of the street where he was hit by a southbound Acura SUV.
The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The deadly accident remains under investigation.
