Man On Interstate 80 Struck And Killed By 2 Vehicles

Sacramento, CA – A pedestrian was struck and killed at around 1:48 a.m. while walking along the eastbound lane of Interstate 80.

The driver, 48-year-old Bee Vue was traveling east in a 1988 Honda Civic when he struck a male pedestrian.

The pedestrian was knocked into the next lane and in the path of a 2010 Chevy Cobalt driven by 44-year-old Larry Cook., of Phoenix.

The pedestrian, later identified as 35-year-old Matthew Lamb, of Lincoln, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Both drivers stopped to assist after the crash.

The Honda Civic driver says it was dark and he did not see the pedestrian on the highway.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt was uninjured. The driver of Honda was treated for minor injuries at San Juan Mercy Hospital and released.

Neither driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the accident occurred, according to the Sacramento Bee.

It is unknown whether charges will be filed against the Honda Civic driver.

The accident is still under investigation.
