Mother Killed, Son Injured in Mira Mesa Crash on Calle Cristobal
Woman Killed, Baby Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision at Calle Cristobal and Caminito Propico in Mira Mesa
Mira Mesa, California (March 31, 2018) – A 27-year-old mother was killed, and a 4-year-old son was critically injured Friday morning in a multi-vehicle accident in Mira Mesa, according to San Diego Police Department report.
The incident occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m. Friday, March 30 at the intersection of Calle Cristobal and Caminito Propico near Ridge Park.
San Diego Police said the mother was turning out of the Tierra Mesa neighborhood in a white Acura Legend when a gray Honda Accord heading westbound on Calle Cristobal collided with her at the intersection.
The mother was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was withheld pending family notification.
The son was transported to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.
The 26-year-old driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and stayed at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
