2 Killed, 1 Hurt in Cajon Pass Accident on 15 Freeway near Kenwood Avenue
San Bernardino, California (June 27, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle collision that left two parties dead and another with injuries in Cajon Pass Monday morning.
The accident was reported around 3:49 a.m. on northbound Interstate 15 near the Kenwood Avenue exit.
According to the CHP, a white Toyota Highlander, a white Nissan Versa, and a black Buick Verano were involved in the crash.
The Toyota and the Nissan collided on the freeway in unclear circumstances. A short time later, the Buick rear-ended the stopped Nissan, causing it to burst into flames.
Two people were declared deceased at the crash site.
The names of the victims were not immediately released.
One person was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
