David Kahlberg Dies in Camarillo Motorcycle Crash on Highway 118

Camarillo, California (June 14, 2023) – 57-year-old David Kahlberg has been identified as the motorcyclist killed Tuesday morning in Camarillo.

The fatal crash occurred at about 6:50 a.m. on Highway 118, west of Walnut Avenue and east of Mesa School Road.

Kahlberg was riding a 2005 Yamaha FJR 1300 westbound on the highway, and a 43-year-old Fillmore man was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry, also westbound, ahead of Kahlberg.

The Fillmore man slowed down to turn left into a private driveway, and Kahlberg attempted to pass the car using the eastbound lane.

Kahlberg ended up hitting the left side of the Camry.

The motorcycle rider was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
