8-Year-Old Boy Dies, 4 Seriously Hurt in Car Crash at Arlington and Stover Avenues in Riverside

Riverside, California (May 17, 2023) – An 8-year-old boy died, and four others were hospitalized after a violent head-on crash that happened Tuesday morning at an intersection in Riverside.

According to Riverside police, two vehicles collided head-on at Arlington and Stover avenues at around 7:30 a.m.

A white Honda sedan heading westbound on Arlington reportedly lost control and veered into the path of a gray Nissan Sentra traveling eastbound.

The vehicles collided head-on, leaving car parts and debris scattered across the roadway and into yards.

The Nissan was occupied by a female adult and three juveniles at the time of the collision. All the occupants were hospitalized with injuries ranging from critical to serious.

One of the juveniles, an 8-year-old boy, later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Honda was also hospitalized in serious condition.

Police are investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
