Jose Torrez Identified as the Victim Killed in Ash Street Pedestrian Accident in Escondido
Escondido, CA: Jose Torrez, 33, Killed in Ash Street Pedestrian Accident
Escondido, California (October 10, 2016) – The medical examiner’s office have identified the pedestrian who was fatally struck on Saturday morning as 33-year-old Jose Torrez, according to the Times of San Diego.
According to the article, the police were informed that Torrez had been at a nearby convenience store at about 2:05 a.m. Saturday morning and appeared to be intoxicated. Moments later, Torrez was struck by a passing vehicle as he was crossing the lanes of Ash Street in the 1100 block of East Valley Parkway.
The Escondido police and paramedics responded to the scene. Reportedly, the vehicle struck Torrez and then came to rest on him. Torrez was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The article stated that the driver of the small sedan was not injured in the crash and it was determined that the driver was not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
