1 Dies, 3 Hurt in Long Beach Crash at Pacific Coast Highway and Junipero Avenue

Long Beach, California (June 9, 2023) – One person died, and three others were injured after a multi-car accident at an intersection in Long Beach Thursday evening.

Authorities said the incident was reported at around 7:19 p.m. June 8 at Pacific Coast Highway and Junipero Avenue.

According to the Long Beach Police Department report, four vehicles were involved in the collision. The events surrounding the mishap were not immediately established.

Police said an SUV operated by a male was heading westbound on PCH at Junipero Avenue when it drifted into the eastbound lanes and collided with three other cars.

The solo male driver of the SUV was declared dead at the site.

The male adults from the other vehicles were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Drugs and alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the crash.

PCH’s eastbound and westbound lanes from Junipero Avenue to Cherry Avenue were shut down for cleanups and investigations.

An investigation is underway.
