Lancaster, California (September 9, 2016) – A 54-year-old man was killed Thursday night following a tragic traffic collision at the intersection of Avenue H and 60th Street, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The accident took place at about 8:35 a.m. yesterday when Gray Wood, who was driving northbound on 60th Street Avenue, collided with a big rig at Avenue H and 60th Street Interchange.
Reportedly, the big rig driver failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with Gary Wood. Gary Wood was fatally injured in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
Initial investigation shows that the big rig driver was not driving under the influence.
The report did not indicate whether or not the driver of the semi-truck was injured in the accident.
The crash is under investigation by Lancaster Sheriff’s Department
