STANTON, CA: Boy, 16, Dead Following Fatal Stanton Pedestrian Accident

STANTON, California (July 28, 2016) – A 16-year-old boy from Anaheim sustained fatal injuries Wednesday morning after he was struck by a vehicle while walking on a sidewalk at 11200 Beach Boulevard, as per the Orange County Sheriff Coroner.

Austin Caldera was hit by a car about 6:35 AM on Wednesday as he walked a local Boys and Girls Club in Stanton. According to the authorities, a car veered off the roadway and struck the boy. The boy sustained critical injuries and was rushed by paramedics to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange. Unfortunately, the Savanna High School boy died at 7:26 AM on the same day.

An investigation into the crash is underway by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

A GoFundMe page has since been set up by the boy’s mother. The page is aimed at raising funds to help in arranging a proper funeral for the boy. The boy’s mother is single having lost her husband about 3 years ago, as per the Orange County Register.
