Woman Killed in Pasco County Crash at U.S. 41 and Horton Road

Tampa Woman Killed in 2-Vehicle Collision at U.S. 41 and Horton Road in Pasco County
Pasco County, Florida (March 27, 2018) – A Tampa woman was killed Monday morning in a two-car crash in Pasco County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The deadly incident occurred at around 9:59 a.m. Monday, at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Horton Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Connie Sands from Tampa was driving a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire westbound on Horton Road when she turned left onto U.S. 41. At the same time, 51-year-old Guillermo Fernandez was driving a 2017 Dodge van northbound on U.S. 41. Sands turned into the path of the van. The van struck the left side of the Pontiac.
Sands was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Fernandez was transported to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point with minor injuries.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
