Bicyclist Killed in Denham Springs Crash on LA 1025
Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Vehicle on LA 1025 in Denham Springs
Denham Springs, Louisiana (April 9, 2018) – A bicyclist was killed Saturday night in a hit-and-run crash in Denham Springs, Louisiana State Police
The collision happened at about 10:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7 on LA 1025, just east of LA 16.
According to the Louisiana State Police, Chad Zimmerle, 38, was riding his bicycle westbound on LA 1025 while 56-year-old Glenn Banta was operating a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado westbound.
For unknown reasons, Banta rear-ended Zimmerle’s bicycle and fled the scene.
Zimmerle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Banta was later arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Jail for Hit-and-Run and Driving Under Suspension.
This accident remains under investigation, and additional charges are pending.
