Man Fatally Struck by Car on Earhart Boulevard in New Orleans
New Orleans, Louisiana (March 27, 2018) – A man was struck and killed by a car Monday morning in New Orleans, according to authorities.
The incident happened shortly after 5:00 a.m. Monday, March 26 in the 2800 block of Earhart Boulevard.
According to the authorities, a taxi driver was traveling southbound on Earhart Boulevard when the man stepped off the curb and into the roadway. The driver tried to swerve to avoid the man but failed, striking him with the front passenger side of the vehicle.
The man was transported a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The taxi driver remained at the scene.
Authorities stated that there was no crosswalk at the site where the man entered the roadway.
