Two People Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 10 East in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, Louisiana (April 1, 2018) – Two people were killed Friday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Baton Rouge, according to Baton Rouge Police.

The accident happened at about 2:15 a.m. Friday, March 30 on Interstate 10 East at the Mississippi River Bridge.

Police said 29-year-old Alex Dillman of Morganza was operating a Jeep Cherokee westbound in the eastbound lanes when he crashed into a semi-truck in the left lane.

The Cherokee continued forward and struck a Dodge Dually driven by Dragus Rochon, 33, of New Iberia, which was pulling an enclosed trailer. A fourth vehicle was also hit and sustained minor damage.

Dillman died at the scene, and Rochon was taken to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the fourth vehicle was not injured.

An investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
