3 Killed, 3 Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 35 in Duluth

Duluth, Minnesota (April 3, 2018) – Three people were killed, and three others were injured Monday morning in a wrong-way crash in Duluth, according to Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. Monday, April 2 on Interstate 35.

According to troopers, 23-year-old Aaron Dame was driving a 1997 Toyota 4Runner northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 when he crashed head-on into a 2001 GMC Yukon, driven by Duanda Robinson, 26, of Duluth.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two-year-old Damiah Anderson from Duluth was a passenger in the Yukon, and was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Dame’s passenger, Abigail Ptasnik, 22, of Duluth, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Two passengers in the Yukon, 22-year-old Arriana Norling of Minneapolis, and Jajaun Starks, were transported to St. Mary’s with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
