DULZURA, Calif. — California Highway Patrol identified a 37-year old fatally hurt motorcyclist in a collision on a Dulzura road today.
Larry Jenkins, a Chula Vista resident, drove the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 motorcycle. Jenkins apparently lost control of his motorcycle and hit the guardrail on State Route 94. He was in the Gasoline Curve area going eastbound approximately 2.6 miles from Otay Lakes Road, reported the County Medical Examiners and the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred Sunday afternoon. A driver passing the location of the fatal scene reported the accident and requested for assistance close to 2:00 p.m.
Medics transported Jenkins to a nearby hospital for treatment in an ambulance. Authorities stated, Jenkins passed away soon after he arrived at the hospital.
California Highway Patrol began investigating the motorcycle collision. Investigators are not aware whether alcohol or speed played a role in the deadly accident on State Route 94. Investigators will provide an update when they have completed their investigation.
