Woman Killed in Four-Vehicle Chain-Reaction Crash on Garden State Parkway in Hillside
Hillside, New Jersey (March 28, 2018) – A woman died in a crash involving multiple vehicles on Tuesday afternoon in Hillside, according to New Jersey State Police.
The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, on the Garden State Parkway near the Union Toll Plaza.
Police said the vehicles appeared to have been involved in a chain-reaction collision. One car reportedly crashed into the concrete barrier and caught fire.
A woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity was not released pending notification of the next of kin.
The State Police are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
