Eliza Almuina Fatally Hit by Car at Louisiana Boulevard and Natalie Avenue in Albuquerque
Albuquerque, New Mexico (March 25, 2018) – The girl who was struck and killed by a car Thursday afternoon in Albuquerque has been identified as Eliza Almuina, 12, according to an Albuquerque Police Department report.
The fatal crash took place at around 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Louisiana Boulevard and Natalie Avenue, just south of Montgomery Boulevard.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department report, Almuina was crossing Louisiana Boulevard when a vehicle heading northbound on Louisiana Boulevard stopped to allow her to cross but a 2015 GMC sports utility vehicle in another lane failed to stop and hit her.
Almuina was transported to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
No further information regarding the crash is available at this time.
The deadly accident remains under investigation.
