Seattle Man Killed, Two People Injured in 2-Vehicle Collision on State Route 18 near Southeast 231st in Maple Valley
Maple Valley, Washington (March 24, 2018) – A man was killed, and two other people were injured Wednesday night in a two-vehicle accident in Maple Valley, according to a Washington State Patrol report.
State troopers said they received a call at around 11:40 p.m. March 18, regarding the incident on State Route 18 near Southeast 231st.
According to the Washington State Patrol report, a 27-year-old Auburn woman was driving a black Acura eastbound on State Route 18 when she crossed over the median and was broadsided by a white Mazda pickup traveling westbound.
The Seattle man, who was a passenger in the Acura, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Auburn woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
The driver of the pickup sustained injuries.
All westbound lanes of State Route 18 were shut down while cleanup crews remove the crash debris that was strewn on the roadway.
The accident remains under investigation.
