2 Killed in 2-Vehicle Collision on Route 460 near Zuni in Isle of Wight County

Isle of Wight County, Virginia (March 28, 2018) – Two people were killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in Isle of Wight County, according to State Police.

The incident happened at around 2:15 p.m. Monday, March 26 on Route 460, just west of the town of Zuni.

According to the State Police, a 2000 grain truck, driven by Walter Crocker, was traveling westbound on Route 460 when it swerved off the road.  The driver then over-corrected, crossed over the center line and struck an eastbound 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser head-on

The driver of the PT Cruiser, John Mallory, and his passenger, Earl Mallory, were declared deceased at the scene.

Crocker was transported by air ambulance to Norfolk Sentara Hospital with serious injuries. He was cited for reckless driving, failure to maintain proper control.

The crash remains under investigation.
