Track Team Member Killed, 3 Others Injured in 2-Vehicle Collision on U.S. Highway 2 and Wood Road in Airway Heights

Airway Heights, Washington (April 16, 2018) – One member of Medical Lake High School track team was killed and three others were injured in a two-car crash in Airway Heights Saturday morning, according to Washington State Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred at about 6:45 a.m. on U.S. Highway 2 and Wood Road.

According to the WPS, a sports utility vehicle with four members of the Medical Lake High School was heading southbound on Wood Road when it was broadsided by a Ford F-250 going eastbound on U.S. Highway 2.

Journey Tueller, 17, died at the scene. Lauren Gross, 17, Savannah Sutton, 14 and Laci Sica, 15 were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the Ford, 37-year-old Lloyd Jones was treated at the scene and released.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
