Woman Killed in 2-Vehicle Collision on McKinley Avenue East in Tacoma

Tacoma, Washington (April 20, 2018) – A 60-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Tacoma Wednesday night, police said.

The incident happened at around 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, April on McKinley Avenue East.

According to the police, a Toyota Prius and a Hyundai Elantra both were traveling on McKinley Avenue East when the Hyundai attempted to pass at least two cars.

The Hyundai allegedly slammed into the Prius.

The impact sent one of the cars on the sidewalk.

The Prius’s driver, the 60-year-old woman, died at the scene. She has not been identified.

The driver of Hyundai, a 25-year-old Tacoma woman, was transported to Tacoma General Hospital and was later booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide.

The crash remains under investigation.
