Two people lost their lives in a crash in Fresno County. The accident occurred at 1:30 pm at the corner of Rose and Academy avenue.
The California Highway Patrol quickly arrived at the scene. They looked into the incident and found that the driver of a white pickup truck ran past a stop sign. When he passed the stop sign he ran into an SUV and another pickup truck. The truck he hit caught fire immediately, leading to the death of both passengers in the truck.
The driver of the SUV was seriously injured during the crash. When emergency personnel got to him, they immediately determined that he needed medical attention. They sent him to Community Regional Medical Center. At this time, it is unknown how serious is injuries are.
Police determined that the driver of the pickup was under the influence of alcohol. The driver is being charged with a DUI, and the police hope to get a conviction, so the two victims get justice.
