A serious collision involving a semi-truck and 5 other vehicles halted westbound and eastbound traffic on 60 Freeway before rush hour in Monterey Park on Tuesday.
Approximately 3:45 p.m. a 6 vehicle major crash, including a semi-truck occurred on the Freeway near Atlantic, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities closed the westbound and eastbound lanes on the freeway since an 18-wheeler and a white 4-door car crashed into the divider.
Authorities are investigating the major accident scene that shut down the freeway. Detectives were trying to determine what caused the major accident involving 6 vehicles. Also, investigators are trying to rule out alcohol, drugs and speed as contributing factors of the serious accident.
Paramedics have report no serious injuries at this time.
The California Highway Patrol cleared the accident around 7:00 p.m., but authorities still had two left westbound lanes closed on the freeway.
Traffic is still slow in both directions.
