SAN BERNADINO – A SigAlert was issued on Friday by local authorities when a semi truck caught on fire on the 10 freeway in San Bernadino. California Highway Patrol records indicate that the truck jackknifed, causing it to hit a light pole at approximately 6:00 pm.

Local authorities reported that the vehicle became engulfed in flames, spreading through the area surrounding the accident. As a result, officers with the CHP closed the North and South ramps connecting the 215 and 10 freeways. In addition, the Waterman Avenue on-rap was also closed connecting to the 215 freeway. Firefighters were on the scene promptly to respond to the flames and contain the fire.

Hazardous material crews cleared motor oil that had spilled on the road. This caused traffic to be diverted, closing the roads into the early morning hours. Officials said that there was at least one injury, but the condition of the individual has not been disclosed at this time. No additional details, including the names of those involved are not currently available.
