Lanes were shut down after a truck overturned and spilled debris onto the road in San Francisco leading to the shutdown of the highway.

According to a witness, Johnny Padilla, the truck appeared to have been speeding and the brakes failed. Witnesses say that the speeding truck was seen heading eastbound towards Silver Avenue. It then struck a light pole which caused the truck to roll on its side and spill debris onto the road bringing its dangerous rampage to an end. The driver however remained trapped inside with the vehicle which was partially left dangling over the four southbound lanes of Highway 101. The driver was forced to escape through the windshield in order to save himself.

Miraculously, few people were injured in the incident. Two people sustained injuries after the truck crashed into a car which consequently crashed into a home. However, had the truck traveled the same path a bit earlier, then school children may not have been lucky. The incidence resulted in the highway being shut for investigations by the police.
